Odisha: Dipali Das wins Jharsuguda by-poll, retains late father's seat

Biju Janata Dal has retained its hold in Jharsuguda Assembly constituency. Party candidate Dipali Das emerged as a clear winner in the election. She is the daughter of slain Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, who was shot dead by Sub Inspector on January 29. The by-election was necessitated following his murder. Dipali got around 61 per cent votes. She defeated her nearest rival and BJP candidate Tankadhar Tripathy.
