In major setback for Uddhav Thackeray, EC recognises Eknath Shinde faction as the real Shiv Sena

The Election Commission has awarded Shiv Sena's official symbol - the bow and arrow - to the Eknath Shinde faction after recognising it as the real Shiv Sena. It may be recalled that Eknath Shinde had split the Shiv Sena after winning over more than two-thirds of the party's MLAs. Eknath Shinde became the CM of Maharashtra after joining hands with erstwhile partner BJP. The Uddhav Thackeray faction remains with the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Eknath Shinde has welcomed the decision of the Election Commission and said it is a win for Balasaheb Thackeray's ideology.
