Following a meeting with leaders of G-20 nations, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has declared a worldwide recession. "It is now clear that we have entered a recession. We project a rebound in 2021, but only if we contain the virus and prevent liquidity problems from becoming a solvency issue," said Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also participated in the meeting via video conferencing in the national capital. Foreign minister S Jaishankar was also present in the meeting.
