The Congress on Wednesday lashed out at Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, asking him to 'perform or face an election' amid furore over widespread waterlogging in the capital city. A day earlier the CM had blamed 'maladministration' by previous Congress governments' and unprecedented rainfall for the current situation in Bengaluru. "He (Bommai) has the government. Leave your power and let there be a President rule. We will come to power and solve the problem (of waterlogging in Bengaluru)," retorted state Congress president DK Shivakumar on Wednesday. He also alleged that the "corrupt" BJP government and its officials were responsible for the city's plight.
