Iran has said it is battling a growing “shadow war” from within its own borders as authorities intensify a sweeping nationwide crackdown on what it calls alleged spies, infiltrators, and enemy collaborators. According to Iranian officials, more than 6,500 people have been arrested since the conflict began, with Tehran accusing foreign-backed networks of attempting to destabilize the country through espionage, sabotage, and unrest. Iranian commander Ahmad Reza Radan claimed operations to identify and detain suspects are continuing across the country, warning that security forces will show “zero tolerance” toward those accused of aiding the enemy or fuelling disorder.
