Human rights activists discuss China’s expansionist policies at 54th UNHRC session

Human rights activists from South Asia, Japan and Africa discussed about the implications of China’s expansionist policies. The side event held during the 54th Session of UN Human Rights Council in Geneva was titled “Human Rights Situation in Asian Nations”. The speakers highlighted the impact of China’s BRI, a trans-continental passage that links China with south east Asia, Central Asia, Russia and Europe by land. Speaking to ANI, Japanese political activist Shun-ichi Fujiki highlighted China’s expansionist policies and its consequences on the people in the region. The session focused on unlawful detentions of the State to take advanced corporate technologies by exploiting anti-spy laws. The activists from the Balochistan province of Pakistan also highlighted the impact of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
