DRDO, Indian Navy Successfully Test Air-Droppable ‘ADC-150’ From P-8I Aircraft

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Navy successfully carried out four in-flight release trials of the indigenous Air Droppable Container ‘ADC-150’ from a Boeing P-8I Poseidon aircraft off the coast of Goa between February 21 and March 1, 2026. Designed to deliver a payload of up to 150 kg, the system is aimed at strengthening naval logistics and operational support. The container can be deployed quickly to supply critical stores, spare parts, equipment and even medical aid to naval ships operating far from the coastline. Officials say the successful trials mark a significant step towards enhancing India’s maritime operational readiness and self-reliance in defence technology.
