Hyderabad: College officials arrested for cloning fingerprints to cover up for attendance

The Hyderabad Task Force police on Wednesday busted a gang and arrested three people for cloning fingerprints of faculty members of various educational institutions. The Police arrested the two-Poreddy Sudershan Reddy, Vice- Principal and Bomma RamaKrishna, Associate Professor of Vivekannda Group of Institutions and are on search of another accused Gopal Reddy who went absconding. According to the Police, the gang would illegally prepare and sell the cloned fingerprints of faculty of various institutions showing false attendance to JNTU officials and cheating them to earn money. The police seized Rs 3 lakhs cash, a biometric machine, a glue gun, glue sticks, 60 cloned fingerprints of faculty. Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad city said, "The Commissioner's Task Force, East Zone Team, Hyderabad city has apprehended three persons who were involved in illegal preparation and selling of cloned fingerprints to faculty members of various educational institutions and tweaking the online biometric attendance illegally."
