"They attempted to pour black oil on my face, but three teachers stood beside me and blocked the students. However, the oil was poured on the teachers as well as on my clothes," Alice told TOI. According to the college management, the action was taken after some students organised a late-night Ghazal Night on Jan 28, violating institutional directives. The management also alleged that three of them had attempted to break open the college hall using sharp weapons and hurled abuses at teachers. Alice also stated that the students who allegedly violated the college directives had been involved in similar incidents the previous year too, when outsiders entered the campus, including women's hostel premises late in the night.
