3,500 junior doctors boycott duties in Telangana

Almost 3,500 junior doctors have boycotted elective duties across government hospitals in Telangana seeking better wages and facilities. Protests were held in several government hospitals across the state. The junior doctors have demanded the government to enhance their stipend by 15 per cent, provide ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh to kin of junior doctors who died due to Covid-19, allotment of beds for healthcare workers and their family members at the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences and 10 per cent risk allowance.
