Medical Students' Body Writes To PM Modi Over Safety Of Indian Students In Iran Amid Protests

As violent protests continue to spread across Iran, the All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) has appealed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to urgently intervene for the safety of Indian students. The AIMSA foreign student wing said nearly 3,000 Indian medical students are currently studying in Iran amid escalating unrest across several cities. In a letter to the minister, Mohammad Momin Khan, Vice President of AIMSA’s Jammu and Kashmir unit, highlighted growing concerns over the rapidly deteriorating security situation. He said students and their families are facing severe anxiety due to instability on the ground and uncertainty over their safety. The association urged the Ministry of External Affairs to closely monitor developments and take necessary steps to ensure the protection and well-being of Indian medical students. The appeal comes as protests intensify, raising fears over law and order and access to essential services.
