Forest department officials in Chandigarh searched the Sukhna Lake for carcasses of dead birds after five avians were found dead. While the cause of deaths of the birds hasn't been confirmed, in view of the spread of bird flu in many states, officials are being vigilant. Four birds were found dead at Sukhna Lake on January 6, while one carcass was found a day earlier. Officials have also asked bird watchers and the common people to report any unnatural symptoms in birds like diarrhoea, head tilt, paralysis and sluggish behaviour.
