Morbi bridge collapse: Ajanta Oreva contract copy with municipality mentions agreement of repair work for 8-12 months

The contract copy of the private firm Ajanta Oreva which was overseeing maintenance work of the bridge has been accessed. As per the agreement between the Morbi municipality and the Ajanta Oreva firm, 8- 12 months were required to be given by company for maintenance. However, bridge was opened in only 5 months. A nearly 100-year-old suspension bridge over the Machchhu River in Gujarat's Morbi collapsed on Sunday. As many as 132 people have been reported dead so far, while two are missing, the police said.
