Travis Kelce does not make music, but his fingerprints were quietly present on one of this week’s biggest chart moments. When
Taylor Swift’s “Opalite” remix climbed to No. 1 on iTunes, his reaction was not polished or rehearsed. It was personal. It was immediate. And it revealed how invested he is in her creative world.
The Kansas City star’s public excitement arrived just as fans were learning how involved he had been behind the scenes. What started as a direct message between Kelce and DJ Chris Lake became a chart-topping collaboration. For Kelce, it was never about credit. It was about belief.

Travis Kelce helped spark Taylor Swift’s Opalite remix and celebrated its rapid rise
Lake shared the milestone with fans after the remix hit No. 1, writing, “Woke up to a #1 overall on iTunes :) @taylorswift I’ve also just uploaded my studio session putting the official @taylorswift ‘Opalite’ remix together on my YouTube. Hit the link in my bio to watch it & to download the remix 💎.”
Swift’s response carried the warmth of an artist who felt understood. “These videos make me as happy as your remix does—so excited the fans are loving it too!! Appreciate you!!”
Kelce’s reply was pure instinct. “Immediately to the top of the charts!! 🔥🔥 bout to tune into the studio session right now!”

His excitement made sense. Weeks earlier, he had been the bridge. In January, Lake reached out, offering to remix the track. Kelce’s answer mixed disbelief with admiration. “Bro how tf do you put shit together this fast, man?” he wrote, adding that Swift “loves it too! She said her team’s gonna reach out ASAP.”
Swift later joked about his role, posting their exchange and captioning it, “Confirmed, Travis is my in-house house guy.”
Lake understood the moment. “When @killatrav & @taylorswift hit you about an official remix.. you get it done :) My official remix of ‘Opalite’ @taylorswift is now available for preorder on CD—stay tuned for more info about the release. (Don’t worry I got Travis’s permission to post these :))”
For Kelce, this was another form of teamwork. The same instincts that guide him with the Kansas City Chiefs showed up here. He saw something special and pushed it forward.
Swift has spoken openly about that support. “I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do, and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music,” she said. “That’s the coolest thing about Trav: He is so passionate about what he does that me being passionate about what I do, it connects us.”
She also sees the parallels. “It just is the most fun thing in the world to be able to support each other and the polarity of how different our jobs are,” she said. “But there’s a lot of similarities, too.”
Kelce’s locker room and Swift’s stage may look different. The energy, though, feels familiar.
