Host Manimegali reveals why she quit Cooku with Comali
Popular host and television personality Manimegalai recently made headlines with the surprising announcement of her departure from the hit cooking reality show Cooku with Comali. This unexpected exit shared through her social media, has left fans and followers shocked, with many speculating about the reasons behind her decision.
Manimegalai posted a heartfelt message revealing the circumstances that led to her stepping away from the show, which has been a significant part of her career since November 2019. In the post, she expressed her dedication and hard work, noting how much she had poured into the show, but she emphasized that her self-respect had to come first.
"Not a part of Cooku with Comali anymore," she began. "With utmost sincerity, honesty, and dedication, I always give 100% in every project I commit to, including Cooku with Comali. However, nothing is more important than self-respect! I strictly follow that in all stages of my life, even if it means walking away."
In her statement, Manimegalai addressed the tensions behind the scenes, stating that another female host, who was initially supposed to be a contestant, overshadowed her role. This caused friction during the season, leading to her decision to exit the show. "This season was completely dominated by another female host, who was supposed to be a cook, but she often forgot that and interrupted a lot during my portions. Even raising a concern became an offence in this season. I always raise my voice for what's right for me, and I don’t care about anybody else," she explained.
Despite the challenges, Manimegalai extended her well-wishes to the individual responsible for her discomfort. "I still wish only the best to the person who did this to me. May God bless her with more shows and opportunities, so others won’t have to suffer."
Manimegalai's heartfelt farewell also acknowledged the good times she had during her journey with Cooku with Comali. "I will always cherish the memories of our favourite Cooku with Comali, and I'm glad I had the chance to work with such a professional production team from Season 1 to Season 5. Thank you for all the love, Chottiiiis," she concluded.
Manimegalai, who began her career in 2010, has made a name for herself as a prominent television host. Known for her dynamic and engaging style, she gained popularity through shows like Franka Sollatta, Freeya Vidu, Hot Seat, and Black. Her ability to connect with audiences and bring energy to every project earned her a loyal fan base.
She became a household name when she participated in Mr. and Mrs. Chinnathirai alongside her husband and soared to even greater fame with her role in Cooku with Comali. With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Manimegalai continues to shine, despite the ups and downs she has faced.
Her decision to leave Cooku with Comali marks the end of an era for fans, but with her resilience and talent, there’s no doubt that Manimegalai will continue to entertain and inspire in future ventures.
