As the life-winner of the 9th season of Bigg Boss Tamil, Divya Ganesh has come to a momentous stage in her lifelong acting career that has been for more than 10 years. Even though she has been in the industry for so long, her rise to fame was distinctive and dramatic in that she appeared on the reality game show. Besides winning the title, she was also in the limelight, media witch hunts, public speculation, and a lot of controversies regarding the PR help she might have gotten; now she is not only in the spotlight, but people are also eyeing her under the magnifying glass.
Divya calls the PR tag a baseless rumor
In an honest interview after her Bigg Boss victory with Cinema Vikatan, Divya refuted claims that she had a 30 lakh PR strategy planned. Divya openly rejected the reports of spending close to 30 lakhs on public relations as baseless and impossible. She said that she had no work done before coming to the Bigg Boss House and so could not afford to spend such amounts. In fact, the 50 lakh prize money was, in fact, her biggest amount she had seen, and, minus tax, it’d have to reduce. The amount she added for PR simply couldn’t be accounted for.
Divya Ganesh's honesty inside the house
Divya also reflected on the price of remaining true to her convictions. She admitted that her “non-holding back” had cost her personally and professionally in the past.
Inside the house, that same "fighting spirit" had earned her ire, though others had gone as far as “red-carding” her. Divya, nevertheless, stated she wouldn’t be ‘watered down’ and wouldn't seriously compromise as it was her thing. Standing and not taking sides worked for her as she non-acted on a show that had more verbals and less actual drama. The show works, as there is a better show, as there are more verbal elements in the show.
Divya emerges stronger
Divya said that this incident had made her stronger and wiser. She said that not even the most viral memes like the watermelon memes had been troubling her all this while, but was tickling her too because of her friend. Not worried about the chatter or the snide remarks, Divya stated that the biggest achievement was that the audience has accepted her as an honest-to-goodness woman. And that for her is the biggest accomplishment, recognition that she did not have to pay for, and one without any ulterior motive.
