Exclusive - Happy Women's Day 2021: From Manasi Salvi to Girija Prabhu, Marathi actresses endorse woman empowerment

Women's Day is being observed today which also marks a call to action for advancing women's equality and empowerment. Marathi celebs have joined the world in celebrating women's contribution to this world and here's what Marathi actresses like Manasi Naik, Gautami Deshpande, and others have to say about the same.

Manasi Salvi

I am, first of all, wishing every woman a Happy Women's Day. There should not be only one day to celebrate women. I think we can celebrate Women's Day when there will be gender equality. Women can only get liberated when she gets equal compensation like men, and I feel other women should also support her in achieving her dreams. When a woman starts to respect another woman, that day can be celebrated as Women's Day.

Gautami Deshpande

A pleased Women's Day to everyone. I think we always talk about women's empowerment and their contribution to society, but we only talk about it rather than making it true. I think we as women don't need special treatment from others to make us happier. We are strong and capable of doing our own thing. There should not be unique treatments for a woman or men because we are equal today. When a woman starts to feel mentally strong, it will be a true tribute to all the women. So be strong mentally, and that's woman empowerment to me.

Uma Pendharkar

A woman performs her responsibilities every day. We as a woman also balance our work and personal life. A woman is a daughter, wife, or daughter-in-law of someone, and those women who perform their responsibilities responsibly; I salute them. I just want to tell all those women that while spending your time for others, keep aside a few mins for yourself. Take a few mins for yourself and be passionate about your hobbies and fulfill your dreams.

Varsha Usgaonkar

I think we should not celebrate Women's Day only on March 8. A woman should receive respect and love everyday because a woman means power, energy, and strength. A woman should be 'Sabala' (capable) rather than Abala (incapable). All women get education equally and be financially stable and inspire others.

6/6

Girija Prabhu

Last year was a challenging year for all of us, and we have suffered a lot. As everything is getting normal, the possibilities of harassment and torture towards women are also increasing, so I feel a woman should be strong enough to save herself. I think we all women should learn karate, judo or self-training to save our lives, and that's how we are going to motivate others.
