Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 contestant Nadira's BFF Sruthy Sithara: She made the whole queer community proud

The first transgender to enter the finale week of Bigg Boss Malayalam, Nadira Mehrin has already created history. She has not only made her friends and family proud but also the whole queer community. In a candid chat with ETimes TV, Nadira's BFF, and trans model Sruthy Sithra shared her excitement about her dear friend's achievement.

"Words cannot contain the pride I have now. More than being her friend, I am so happy by the way she made the whole queer community proud. She never played a transgender card. She showed her determination and proved that we are as strong as any other human being. Though she didn't speak at length about the community in the house, her existence itself was a strong statement. I am sure that she could burst many misconceptions about the people in the community, hope this inspires many to live the life they wish for," the proud friend shared.


Sruthy has been Nadira's support system ever since she came out to her family. Being witness to her transformation and hardships, Sruthy shared that Nadira is truly an inspiration.

"It was not an easy road for her. She dreamt to be in the show for many years. Now, seeing her achieve that dream is overwhelming. Just like hundreds of people, I am also happy that her family has finally accepted her. No one can blame her family for letting her out, that is what a conservative family would do. But, maybe the show would have made them understand certain things and here they are. Sure that many parents will be inspired to accept their kids the way they are now," she said.

When asked about her best moment of Nadira in the house, Sruthy said that it is when Nadira's mother's voice note was played.


"I was the one who was in touch with Nadira's family. So getting a voice note from her mother was a big thing. Then, I literally had goosebumps when Bigg Boss welcomed her to the finale week after the elimination prank. Meeting her inside the house was yet another special moment for me. She made me panic during the Underworld game in the 'Ticket To Finale' task. She is someone who is afraid of water so I was scared of how she would do that. But, she just nailed it," Sruthy added.

When Nadira is known for her THUG dialogues in the show, Sruthy, who entered the house in the family week also went viral with one of her exchanges with Sobha.

"I never intend to make viral content. I am frineds with Sobha, Junaiz and Aniyan. So, that phrase came out of our friendship," she said.


Sruthy concluded by saying that Nadira has made the whole community proud during the pride month.
