Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai's Suzanne Bernert remembers late husband and 3 Idiots actor Akhil Mishra on his 1st death anniversary, to perform a shanti puja

For Suzanne Bernert, her world revolved around her husband, actor Akhil Mishra, whom she married in 2009. His untimely demise in September last year left her devastated. The actress who was last seen in TV show Pyar Ka Pehla Naam: Radha Mohan, remembers Akhil popularly known for his role in Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots.

She said, “I always thought Akhil would be fit to the end, just like Dev Saab. Last year in September I lost him and it's one year without him and I'm feeling emotional and can't express my thoughts in words.”

She recalls her memories and continued, "When we travelled to Germany in 2022 for the first time after the pandemic, he was walking every day in the greenery and beauty of Germany. Often embarking on hour-long walks with him, we used to take stunning landscape pictures and shot short video clips. Already in his 60s, health-wise he was concerned with what he consume, never smoked and had stopped even social drinking for years. Always health-concious, he practiced Yoga and kriya daily."

She added, "By the time, we returned home from that last trip, he was fine except for a spine issue that had cropped up. In Mumbai, we sought and received treatment and it all seemed to have sorted itself. I never imagined that he would leave so suddenly. I always imagined him fit like late actor Dev Anand. We met Dev Saab at the colour premiere of his hit Hum Dono and marvelled at Dev Saab's fitness and energy level. In that he was an inspiration to Akhil, like to many other admirers."

Suzanne following the Hindu rituals will organise a Shanti Puja.

She concluded, "I will have a havan pooja at my Mumbai home on 20th September marking his death anniversary with close friends who were there with me during those hard times. I request our fans to pray for him."


On the work front, Suzanne has been part of several TV shows, including Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Jhansi Ki Rani, Sanskaar Laxmi, and Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. She has also been featured in films like No Problem, The Accidental Prime Minister, and the Telugu film Yatra 2.
