‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ February 2 written update: Abhira and Armaan seperate with Vani and Maira

The latest episode of this hit show starts with a major leap in time as all of the characters move forward eight years. The episode itself starts with Abhira, who now works as a mechanic elsewhere, telling all of our workers to go home. She tells them that she has to celebrate her daughter's ceremony and that she has to go home early as well. She arrives at her place and sees Vani, who is now known as Mukti, taking down a vision board that she had set up.

Mukti sees Abhira and smiles; however, the latter asks her what happened and why she is taking the board down. Mukti reveals that she believes that the world can do anything to bring her down, so she is taking the vision board down herself before something happens. Abhira instead tells her that daughters are blessings, not burdens.

A flashback plays showing Abhira arguing with Armaan and Maira as they both oppose Vani staying with them at the Poddar house.

Abhira attends a nearby event

The scene shifts to Abhira attending her neighbour's god bharai event. At the party, Rinku’s mother all of a sudden announces in panic that her daughter has run away somewhere. Abhira tells everyone that she will go look for her. As she tries to find Rinku, she sees her signing some papers nearby. Abhira confronts her; however, Rinku’s revelation shocks her.

Rinku tells her that she ran away from home as her parents had fixed her marriage with some man before she could even graduate from college. She also ran away because she does not like her in-laws, as they do not want her to study or work after the wedding. Mukti also comes looking for them and overhears everything. She suggests that the marriage should be broken off, while Abhira suggests that something can be done.

Abhira and Mukti return with Rinku and talk to her in-laws about the matter. They, however, mock her and ask her whether a college education will help her in making rotis and food. Her soon to be mother in law also throws her college papers in her face, refusing to listen any further. However, her fiancé stands against his parents and tells her to sign the papers, citing that he has no problem with her continuing her education.

Mukti’s education loan gets rejected

Abhira later receives a call from the bank telling her that the loan she requested for Mukti’s education has been rejected. She tries to plead her case to them, but the bank employee tells her that they can't approve a loan for her daughter right now. This leaves Abhira distraught, who worries about what will happen to Mukti.

The promo for the next episode shows Armaan and Maira cycling together. Later at the Poddar house, Dadi Sa comes up to Armaan asking whether he has bought a ring or not. Later, he is seen on stage, standing next to Meher as both of them smile.
