Vasudha actress Priya Thakur: I try to remind myself that social media is a space to express, not to judge my worth
In a time where social media often blurs the line between personal and public life, actress Priya Thakur who plays the lead role in Vasudha, approaches it with a sense of awareness and balance. For her, sharing is a choice, not a compulsion.
“I don’t see it as a strict boundary, it’s more instinctive,” she says. “There are moments I feel like sharing, and there are moments I want to keep just for myself. Not everything that makes you happy needs to be posted. Some things feel more real when they are lived fully, without the pressure of documenting them.” She adds that once something is shared online, it no longer remains entirely yours, which makes her more mindful about what she chooses to put out.
Talking about validation, Priya believes social media has simply made it more visible. “The need for validation has always been there, but now it comes in numbers. That can be tricky because you start measuring yourself without even realizing it,” she says. “I try to remind myself that social media is a space to express, not to judge my worth.”
The actress is also honest about dealing with opinions that come from strangers. “Of course, we all get affected sometimes,” she says. “But I’ve learned to filter what I take in. If something is coming from a genuine place, I’ll reflect on it. But random negativity doesn’t deserve that space in my mind.” She adds that over time, she has built a stronger sense of self, which helps her stay grounded.
Priya also acknowledges the impact of endless scrolling. “It can quietly affect your mood without you noticing,” she says. “You keep consuming so much that you forget to pause. I’ve experienced that, and now I try to be more conscious. Even small breaks help you reconnect with your own life.”
For Priya Thakur, the key lies in staying aware and choosing what truly matters.
