Rekha gets candid about old BTown day

Directors used to scold but my concentration would be on the dialogues because earlier I didn't know Hindi well. I am an actress, all of this is acting, asal mein kuch nahi aata hai. In those days, work was very serious, we would only work and we didn't have any time for pranks. Such a waste of time. In our times, I don't remember we had any rivalries, there weren't any.

Rekha opens up about her body of work

I have worked a minimum of 40 films signed, and I have shot at a time 14 films on set together. Amma always told me that despite having all the awards and fame I should always stay humble or else I wouldn't be her daughter and that has stayed with me.

Rekha reveals getting beaten by mom in childhood

I have gotten hit by my Amma, padhai mein main zero thi. If I failed in exams then she would hit me with a cane dipped in hot oil. I still remember when I got my report card, it was written promotion detained and I didn't know that meant failed. I came home all happy, and then my mom pulled the ghaghra and hit me with that cane. I still have those marks.

Rekha recalls bleeding after masterji threw his paan box at her

Archana asked whether the directors would scold her, Rekha shared, "I have gotten hit by them as well. Not only directors but even choreographers. The ones from the South are very strict. Hiralal master ji was like 'tu actress banne aayi hai?' I was healthy back then and he got so angry due to multiple takes, he threw the pan box at me and my leg had a deep cut and it was bleeding. But that blood turned me stronger."
