Shubhangi Atre reveals why she LEFT ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’; says her daughter told her to 'do something different'

Shubhangi Atre played the role of Angoori Bhabhi for 10 years in the hit TV show before walking out as season 1 came to an end. Recently, she opened up about what happened behind the sets of ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain,' revealing that her daughter was one of the reasons.

Shubhangi Atre reveals why she left ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’

In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, the famed actress revealed that her decision to leave the show was 1.5 years in the making.





She shared that she would often think, “Okay, so what’s next?” while working on the show, but never took action. It was her daughter who inspired her to move on from the famous TV serial and try out new things.

She added more details, sharing that, “My daughter Aashi: I always said she's my best friend, and she's my biggest critic. So she was also that ‘momma, now you should you do something, you know, cop, or something like that? Do something different.’” Her daughter’s words made her believe that it was time to move and do something that challenged her, and that it was “high time to say goodbye” to the show and her character.

Shubhangi Atre says she was unable to grow while working in ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’

“I was not growing as an actor, I was earning, I was getting love, but mere andar jo woh ek artist wali bhook hai, kalakar ke andar jo ek woh jo rehta hai ki mujhe aur kuch karna hai,” Atre shared, revealing that she had not professionally learnt acting, and had worked on things as they came.
