Shaktiman to Khichdi; Throwback to top 10 iconic TV shows kids and elders loved watching in late 90s and early 2000s

Old is gold, is what comes to our minds when we talk about the shows that most of us watched in the early 2000s. From Shaka Laka Boom Boom to Khichdi, all these were gems of a TV series that not only kids but even adults loved to binge-watch on. So, here is a compiled list of 10 of the most-loved TV shows to give you a major throwback to your young days:

Shaka Laka Boom Boom

Agree or not this TV show must have made you believe in the existence of a magic pencil that could turn mere sketches into original objects. So much so that most of you would have surely gone searching for it in the nearby stationery shops too. This show entertained the kids for almost 4 years wherein the storyline revolved around the adventures of the lead character, Sanju played by actor Kinshuk Vaidya.

Shaktiman

Indians found their own superhero in Shaktiman. The show, which was aired once again during the lockdown, won everyone’s hearts with the amusing storyline. Actor Mukesh Khanna, who played Shaktiman and his alter ego Gangadhar, made a place for himself even in the kids' hearts.

Son Pari

We take the name and you must surely be singing the title track, ‘Dekho aayi aayi aayi.. Sona son pari aayi….’ This show took every 90s kid on a journey to the fantasy world of Frooti (lead character) and the fairy Son Pari and Altu. This show ran for a good 4 years and gave a piece of magical entertainment.

Shararat

‘Shring vling sarvling bhoot bhavishya vartaman badling’ is what got every kid into a trap of snapping their fingers and making their magic work. Jiya aka Shruti Seth’s messed up college life and her mom (Poonam Narula) and nani (Farida Jalal) trying to make things right for her. This show starring a few other popular actors including Karanvir Bohra, Simple Kaul gave a heavy dose of entertainment to all its audience Aditi Shirwaikar Malik, Delnaaz Irani and a few others a heavy dose of entertainment.

Hatim

This fantasy and action drama is based on the lead character, a prince named Hatim, played by Rahil Azam, who goes on his adventures to find answers to seven questions that let him destroy all the evils. Hatim didn’t only give a good shot of fantasy fiction but also gave the teaching of spreading good and peace all around.

Karishma Kaa Karishma

This fun drama series based on a lifelike robot who is more like a young girl, Karishma (played by Jhanak Shukla) made all the kids ask their parents for a robot at home like her. This show was slightly based on American TV series Small wonders.

Khichdi

This one cannot be missed. Khichdi was one such show that gave not only kids but even adults an amazing dose of entertainment and daughter. Revolving around a Gujarati family with some amusing characters tackling their small and big everyday problems in an untypical manner. It was so loved by the audience that it had multiple seasons and later on movies too based on the same plot.

Vikraal aur Gabraal

A ghost hunter and a wannabe ghost hunter or who can be precisely called a student of the ghost hunter. This show was another of a kind that gave out a moral of spreading peace and goodness in the world.

Takeshi’s Castle

The Japanese game show with a commentary of one and only Javed Jaffrey would take each and everyone on a laughing spree. Though it looked like it was all adventure but the comedian and actor turned it into a comedy series.

M.A.D.

Music Art and Dance was no fiction or comedy but a show that made kids get creative. This show surely inspired many to try their hands on various DIY i.e. Do It Yourself arts. Drawing, painting, sketching, dancing, singing, playing instruments and more, all this and a lot more was that the kids got to try with the show’s host Rob.
