In her exclusive interview to BT after the demise of the comedian, she said, "He fought very hard, I was really hoping and praying to see him come out of this. But, that has not happened. All I can say is that he was a true fighter."

Raju's friends and fans were seen at the Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi on Thursday. An ambulance decked up with white flowers left for the Nigambodh Ghat crematorium at Kashmere Gate around 9 am for the funeral, which also had veteran poet-humorists Surendra Sharma and Ashok Chakradhar in attendance. Raju Srivastava's son Ayushmaan performed the last rites as per Hindu rituals around 11 am, the comedian's younger brother Dipoo said. The family has yet to decide the venue for the prayer meet, he further said.
