National leaders, TV actors mourn the demise of the 'king of comedy' Raju Srivastava; call it a 'great loss to the art world'

Raju Srivastava, who had been admitted to AIIMS, Delhi after complaining of chest pain and collapsing at his gym, breathed his last today (September 21). It's not just his family, who is mourning the demise of the comedian, but the entire nation. Several tributes have been pouring in from all across the country for Raju Srivastava. Take a look.

PM Narendra Modi extended his condolences on the demise of Raju Srivastava. PM Modi tweeted, "Raju Srivastava brightened our lives with laughter, humour and positivity. He left us too soon but he will continue to live in the hearts of countless people thanks to his rich work over the years. His demise is saddening. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti."

Sambhavna Seth found it hard to believe that her good friend Raju Srivastava is no more. She posted his photo and wrote, "No No No...Can't believe this. Rest in peace Raju ji."

His close friend, actor and Bhojpuri star Ravi Kishen spoke with ETimes TV and said: "He was my 30 year-old-friend, big loss to his family, daughters, wife. He was a good husband, good father and a good friend."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended condolences on the demise of comedian Raju Srivastava. He wrote, "Renowned comedian Raju Srivastava ji had a unique style, he impressed everyone with his amazing talent. His death is a great loss to the art world. I express my condolences to his family and fans. May God give them the strength to bear this grief. Om Shanti Shanti."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, "I am deeply saddened by the passing away of renowned comedian, Raju Srivastava ji. Apart from being an accomplished artist, he was also a very lively person. He was also very active in the social field. I extend my condolences to his bereaved family and fans. Shanti!"

Munmun Dutta tweeted, "Deeply saddened by this news. Prayed hard for him. ���� I have always been a fan of his work and have binged watched his shows when I needed a laughter. You will always be remembered Raju ji. Om Shanti ���� #RajuSrivastav"

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag tweeted, "Om Shanti, Raju Bhai. A genuine comedian who made people laugh with clean humour and sharp observation. Condolences to his family and fans. #RajuSrivastav."

Johnny Lever while speaking exclusively to ETimes TV mourned the loss of his friend. "Everyday aisa din nahi tha jis mein uske liye prarthana na kiya ho. Uske kaan par phone rakh kar unki wife sunwati thi. Itni koshishe ki hain mai to itna dukhi hoon ki kya hi boloon, Main AIIMS mein ja kar bhi aya tha. He has been fighting for the last one and half month and aaj usko bleeding hui at 8:30 am. We were just praying. After 9:30 am, he passed away around that time. I think 10:30 baje hua hai."
