Kishwer Merchantt and Suyyash Rai on former's pregnancy at 40: When people around us are freezing their eggs or opting for IVF, we feel blessed

Kishwer Merchantt and Suyyash Rai are thrilled to bits as they are all set to welcome their first baby. Kishwer and Suyyash talked about how they felt when they first discovered they were pregnant. They shared it was unplanned and came as a shock. Suyyash said, "I got the pregnancy kit. She went to the washroom and after a while when she didn't come back, I went to check and found her on the toilet seat. She showed me the test and I went, 'Oh shit! Are you serious?'" Kishwer added that there was pin drop silence for a long time after that. (Photo: Instagram)

Kishwer said, "It was a miracle, blessing from God." Suyyash added, "When we see our friends or people around us freezing their eggs or opting for IVF, we feel blessed. We didn't plan it and she conceived it naturally. God just gave us to this naturally. There was no way we could refuse it." (Photo: Instagram)

Suyyash said, "After we got to know (about the pregnancy), she has become funny." He elaborated on some of the incidents including Kishwer's sudden hunger pangs after refusing food. He said that she starts crying and laughing at the same time and that's the funniest thing about her. (Photo: Instagram)

Kishwer said Suyyash was earlier not bothered about her eating habits. But now he makes her eat and she joked it's only because she is pregnant. She said, "He has become responsible. I love that. There are moments when he wants to touch my tummy or talk to the baby." (Photo: Instagram)

They shared they have decided on the name and it was decided within the first two months only. Kishwer said they are not going to reveal it though. She shared that Suyyash has decided the name for a boy and she has decided one for the girl. (Photo: Instagram)

Suyyash said, "We have spent a beautiful journey together and it's been 10 years together, and now it's something else. This pregnancy has made us stronger together." She added how they steal moments together to be with each other now. (Photo: Instagram)
