Actor Gashmeer Mahajani's father, legendary Marathi actor Ravindra Mahajani, was found dead in his flat on Saturday, July 15. The senior actor had reportedly been living alone in Pune and died three days before his body was found by police. A few sections of netizens on social media criticized and questioned Gashmeer for 'not inquiring' about his father and 'ignoring' him in his last days. After receiving a lot of hate on social media, Gashmeer finally decided to react to the trolls and criticism by sharing a post on social media.

Gashmeer wrote in his Instagram story that he will surely open up about the issue in the future and answer everyone's questions. He wrote, "Let’s let a star be a star. I and my fellow people will ensure that by being silent. If that brings hate or abuse to me or us, we are welcoming it more than anything. May the Lord bless, Shanti to the departed soul… Om Shanti. He was my father and my mother’s husband and we knew him better than any of you. Maybe I will open up in future when the time is right."

A section of Gashmeer's fans also supported him and shared condolence messages on social media. Actress Hemangi Kavi too came out in support of Gashmeer recently and slammed the netizens for blaming him after his father's death.

For the uninitiated, Ravindra Mahajani was a legendary Marathi actor. He was 77 years old. Ravindra Mahajani entertained the audience with his superhit Marathi films during the era from 1975 to 1990. He had been living alone in Pune's Aambe village in Maval district for the past eight months.
