Shweta Tiwari’s ex-husband and Bigg Boss fame Raja Chaudhary recently made headlines after making shocking revelations in an interview with Hindi Rush. The actor spoke about the divorce with former wife Shweta, bond with Palak, financial struggles, and more. He revealed struggling to get over alcoholism, past controversies, and much more. I once visited her on the set of her show and saw her arrive in Cezanne’s car with his driver. I could have made accusations, but I chose to trust her. If I asked any questions, she would say that she was earning for the family and things like that.

I admit I was under the influence of alcohol, but that was because I was depressed. Alcohol has caused serious problems in my life. I’ve been to rehab several times, and thankfully, I’ve been sober for the past two years. How can you separate a father from his daughter? She had more influence and used it to spread theories about my drinking. But my question is: how can someone just erase all your emotions in an instant?

I don’t know what her point of view is, but I feel that after her show Kasautii Zindagii Kay became a hit, she began charging by the hour and developed a lot of attitude. She stopped treating people like human beings.

Shweta has harassed everyone in my family. Palak was born in Meerut, and everyone was thrilled. My mother used to take care of her, but after the divorce, Shweta completely cut Palak off from us. My mom still wants to talk to her — sadly, I myself don’t even get to speak to her.

After the controversy, I lost focus on my work. I walked away from my production house, and I wasn’t doing much professionally. I was also struggling financially at the time. My dad used to send me money, and I would write letters to my parents, asking for help. During the entire controversy with Shweta — the legal battles and everything else — it was my family that suffered the most. My parents would travel from Meerut to Mumbai to take care of me. They did everything they possibly could.

I never hit her — all the claims of physical violence are false. Yes, I did break down the doors of her house a few times, but only because I was pushed to that point. They wouldn’t let me in to meet anyone and made me stand outside. That’s why I acted out in anger.

We broke up around 6–7 years later. All this time, she was on set, and I stayed home taking care of our daughter and managing the house. Yes, I made a few irresponsible friends. What’s the big deal? People at home say that those who drink are not good — so I made a few such friends.

No one was ready to rent me a flat, so I ended up getting our flat rightfully. She didn’t want to give me anything — it was the court that awarded me the flat. She made me sign a contract stating she would only give me a divorce if I agreed never to meet Palak.

Whether we resolve things or not is secondary. The important thing is that, as humans, we should at least talk once about the issue. But instead of creating that space, Shweta cruelly cut me off from my daughter. That’s not right. She did it because she was more influential and powerful.

People used my name for controversies and to get into Bigg Boss. So many of the accusations against me are fake and purely for headlines.
