FIR against Gauahar Khan for flouting COVID rules to Rakhi Sawant opening about being body shamed; top TV headlines of the week

From some shocking happenings around TV celebs to some major developments in shows to a few revelations, there were a few important things that happened around the telly world this week. To give you a brief of it all, here’s a round-up of the major happenings of the past week:

Popular actress Gauahar Khan was recently booked for violating the COVID-19 guidelines after she went out for a shoot even after testing positive for COVID. The BMC filed an FIR against her and the same was confirmed by DCP Chaitanya, who confirmed to ETimes TV and said, “Gauahar has been booked for violation of COVID rules. She had tested positive for coronavirus and was supposed to stay home and quarantine but instead went for a film shoot.” Later, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees has issued a non-cooperation notice for two months against actress Gauahar Khan for violation of the government rules on the Covid norms.

The new COVID wave caught a few celebs from the television industry, Bigg Boss 14’s Nikki Tamboli, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein couple Neil Bhatt and Aishwarya Sharma, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Mayur Vakani and his wife Hemali, Gauahar Khan and a few others tested positive for coronavirus.

Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah recently announced his wedding with TV presenter and former Splitsvilla contestant Sanjana Ganesan with an adorable social media post. Sanjana, who is currently a sports presenter, can be recalled from the seventh season of the dating reality show, Splitsvilla.

Bigg Boss 14’s Rakhi Sawant is speculated to be seen in celebrity couple dance reality Nach Baliye 10 with her mysterious husband Ritesh. While the rumours about the same have been doing rounds for a while now, Rakhi recently revealed that she is in talks with the makers of a popular show, without revealing the name. She told ETimes TV, I don't want to disclose much but we have been offered a big reality show together. I won't name the show.”

Actress Kritika Sengar, popular for her shows like Jhansi Ki Rani, Punar Vivah and others, finally returned to television after a gap of almost three years. The actress has entered Avinesh Rekhi and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia starrer Choti Sardarni as Sandhya. Talking about the gap, Kratika shared with BT, “I wanted to take a break after the show wrapped up. I couldn’t take up anything in 2019 due to a personal crisis. I needed to be with my family. And by the time things became fine, the lockdown was implemented.”

TV actress Vidhi Pandya, who rose to fame with Udaan, recently spoke about how life took a turn post the fandom with ETimes TV for our exclusive Tellyblazer segment. Rakhi Sawant, who recently earned back the love of her fans and also the fame with her Bigg Boss stint, recently opened up about the struggle she faced when she didn’t have work. The actress revealed in an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, that she was mocked for her looks and shamed for not knowing English on many occasions. She was called ugly looking and motormouth but she took everything in her own stride and didn’t give up. Talking about it all Rakhi said, “People would make fun of me, they would pass comments on me, body shame, face shame me. They would make fun of my English and that I can’t speak English. Nobody knows how I’ve survived the difficult times. I was called ugly looking, fat, motormouth, gutter mouth. I have taken everything with a pinch of salt and forgiven everyone.”
