Actor Shriya Tiwari, who has stepped into the role of Saloni Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2, says she is happy that her track tackles a long-standing social issue.In the new season, the show continues to use its platform to go beyond family drama and bring sensitive subjects into living rooms across the country. Shriya believes that’s what sets the show apart.“Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi uses its massive platform to address vital social issues and champion education in society,” she said. “The show moves beyond family drama to highlight subjects like child safety, domestic violence, and economic independence, teaching families how to have sensitive yet necessary conversations at home.”She added that by bringing these topics to mainstream television, the makers are shifting the conversation “from private struggles to public awareness, sparking meaningful change in societal mindsets.”Shriya’s character Saloni Virani will now lead a track on girl and boy child discrimination. “It’s old in our society but a new topic in the show,” she explained. “How mostly in our society when the bahu’s pregnancy is revealed, she at times faces pressure to deliver a boy child. The family or husband’s expectation is always for a son. In the show now it airs how my husband wants me to deliver a boy.”The actor said she feels glad that the makers have given her role weight in the narrative. “I’m excited that the makers made my role important in the show. Like other bahus of the Virani family, the audience will also remember me for years,” she said.Apart from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2, Shriya is currently seen in Seher – Hone Ko Hai.
