Exclusive - Shiv Thakare opens up about the recent fire mishap at his Mumbai house; says 'By God’s grace, the damage was limited, and my family was safe'

Reality TV star Shiv Thakare’s Goregaon residence caught fire in November last year and a major part of the house was damaged. However, the Bigg Boss 16 contestant and his family were unharmed in the incident. In an exclusive interview with Times Of India TV, Shiv recently opened up about the fire incident.Speaking about the incident, Shiv shared, "Thankfully, no one was in the living room at that time. I was in the bedroom, and by God’s grace, only a few things caught fire. I try not to take too much stress and know how to handle such situations. What hurt a little was losing some trophies, as they were very special to me. Those are achievements you can’t always win again or replace easily. Still, by God’s grace, the damage was limited, and most importantly, my family was safe in Amravati."The actor, who will soon appear in the reality show The 50, also spoke about how deeply hurt he felt after the trophies he had earned over the years were damaged in the fire. "It hurts a little, and it feels even worse because these are not things you can simply buy, they are earned. They take years of hard work. You perform from childhood, sometimes you come third, sometimes second, and finally you reach first. That first trophy holds immense value."He added, "Even while shifting, I never pack them carelessly. If someone puts them in a sack, I don’t like it — I usually carry them in my car myself. That’s how close they are to me. And it’s not just for me; such achievements are special to everyone. So yes, it feels bad. But it’s okay. As long as we are safe, we can achieve things again. God has protected us, and that matters the most."On the work front, Shiv, who was last seen in Jhalak DIkhhla Jaa is gearing up for a new reality show, The 50. He has been a part of some successful reality shows like Roaides, Bigg Boss season 16 and Khatron Ke Khiladi. He is also the winner of Bigg Boss Marathi.
