Exclusive: Divya Agarwal and Varun Sood reveal their parents’ reaction when they decided to move-in together

Divya Agarwal and Varun Sood’s love story began in the reality show Ace of Space and it’s been more than a year the couple has been living together. They even celebrated the milestone of their one-year live-in in February this year. One of the most popular youth icon, Divya and Varun have never shied away from social media and been honest to their family and fans. But do you want to know how they broke the news of deciding to move-in together? During an exclusive interaction with ETimes TV, Divya and Varun shared this and more. (By: Sukarna Mondal)

Varun: My parents were damn chill. Before this I was living in Delhi. So when I told them I am going to Mumbai, they said, ‘Toh Mumbai me sambhal lega?’ I told them Divya is there and they were like ‘Oh, then it’s fine’. My mom and dad were very chill about this. (Pic: Instagram)

Varun: The reason why I chose to move in with Divya is because I felt we need to spend more time with each other and know each other. Because a reality show scenario is different and real is different. If our relationship survives the real world, we will keep surviving in future as well. So that’s why we decided to move in together. (Pic: Instagram)

Divya: For me, breaking this news to my parents was really difficult because I stay in Mumbai (Navi Mumbai) with my parents. For 12 years, I have been travelling from New Mumbai to Mumbai for work and every small things. So when Varun was shifting to Mumbai, I just couldn’t leave him alone here. I didn’t want to just meet him and come back home. (Pic: Instagram)

Divya: I slowly started shifting my things to his place. Out of the blue, a week later I told my mom that it is getting difficult for me because of the travelling. And she was like, “For 12 years, you didn’t have any problem and now you are having a problem.” And I told her that I have done up and down for 12 years and don’t want to do it anymore. And thankfully, Varun ka number 1 fan is my dad. My dad loves him more than anybody in the family. So agar Varun jaisa ladka hai Divya k saath hai toh papa is more than happy to think that I am in safe hands." (Pic: Instagram)

Varun: For my parents Divya is more favourite and for her dad, I am more favourite. Divya adds, “If I tell anything to Varun like why is playing games and all, my dad says, ‘So what if he is playing, he is not interfering or disturbing you. Let him play’. I remember one time we had to attend a wedding. And Varun suddenly decides to appear in an event which was 300kms away. I was annoyed because we were at the wedding and we were supposed to stay there. And Varun really wanted to go there and I got angry. My dad screamed at me saying, ‘If he wants to go let him go. We all will go together.’ I was so surprised to see that my entire family tagged along with Varun. (Pic: Instagram)

Varun: For my parents, whenever Divya is upset, they think I have done something. It is hard to convince my mom that I haven’t done anything wrong in my life to trouble Divya.

Divya: I am genuinely telling you Akshita (Varun’s sister) and mamma both of them think Varun is reason whenever I am upset or sad. (Pic: Instagram)
