Exclusive - Arjun Bijlani on finding joy through chaos this World Laughter Day; says 'Laughter is my daily reset button'
On World Laughter Day, actor Arjun Bijlani, currently spreading cheer on Laughter Chefs, opens up about the role laughter plays in his life—and why he believes it’s the simplest form of therapy.
“Laughter is honestly my daily dose of sanity,” Arjun shares candidly. “With shoots, stress, and everything in between, if you don’t laugh, you’ll go mad. For me, it’s like hitting a reset button—once I laugh, everything feels lighter, even on the toughest days.”
Being part of a show like Laughter Chefs has only amplified that joy. “Now I don’t need to consciously include laughter because the show has made sure I’m laughing non-stop!” he says with a smile. “But otherwise too, I try to keep things light—whether it’s cracking silly jokes on set or just pulling someone’s leg.”
While he hasn’t formally explored structured practices like laughter yoga, Arjun admits the experience on set feels close enough. “I haven’t tried laughter yoga, but after doing this show, I feel like I’ve been unknowingly practicing it every day! And trust me, even forced laughter turns real very quickly when you’re surrounded by the kind of madness we have.”
For Arjun, laughter isn’t just about fun—it’s about well-being. “I genuinely believe laughter is the best therapy—free of cost and no side effects. When you laugh, you instantly feel better. I think half our stress disappears when we stop taking life too seriously.”
And what tickles his funny bone the most? “Bad jokes!” he laughs. “The worse the joke, the harder I laugh. And on our set, we have plenty of those.”
Off-screen, however, his biggest source of happiness is closer to home. “My son Ayaan, without a doubt. One look at him and everything else just fades away. He doesn’t even have to try—he’s my natural happiness booster.”
For Arjun Bijlani, laughter isn’t just a reaction—it’s a way of life.
On the professional front, Arjun Bijlani is currently seen in Laughter Chefs season 3, where he is paired with Tejasswi Prakash as his cooking partner.
