Actress Payal Ghosh came into news yesterday (September 19) soon after she accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of behaving inappropriately with her in a video that went viral. The actress was a part the show in 2016. She played the role of Radhika in Saath Nibhana Saathiya.

Payal has been a part of films like Prayanam, Oosaravelli and Mr. Rascal. In Hindi, she was seen in Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi.

When she was 17 years old, she had accompanied a friend to an audition for Sharpe's Peril and landed a role in the BBC Telefilm. In the period drama based on English soldier Richard Sharpe, Payal had played a village girl, the daughter of a revolutionary freedom fighter from Bengal.

Reportedly, Payal’s parents were not too keen on her joining the film industry. The actress left her hometown Kolkata for Mumbai to pursue her acting dreams.

Payal has accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of behaving inappropriately with her in a video that went viral. She maintained her stance while speaking to ETimes and said, “I have wanted to speak about this for a long time. But today, finally I thought I must get it off my head. I had tweeted about my incident sometime ago when the #MeToo movement had happened, but many people told me to delete the tweet else I would stop getting work. My manager too advised me to remove the tweet. I complied. Post that, Anurag blocked me on WhatsApp.”

According to Payal, she was friends with Anurag on Facebook and the unpleasant incident happened in her third meeting with the filmmaker at his residence at Yari Road. Payal claimed that he tried to force himself upon her. Though she did not raise an alarm, she pleaded with him to let her go and said she would return again some other time.
