Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani's Debattama Saha on making her singing debut: I love singing, but no, I’m not quitting acting
Actress Debattama Saha, best known for shows like Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani and Krishna Mohini, recently made her singing debut with two singles releasing back-to-back.
“Since I was a little kid, I used to sing and my main aim was to become a singer. But I am thankful that acting chose me. And I love acting as well right now,” she says, adding, "Before this, I have only recorded covers in the past, but to have your original song is surreal."
The actress adds that balancing both passions has always been important to her. “I always wanted to be a singer. Acting did pull me, but I also love acting. I can't just choose between the two. Singing has always been my passion and I cannot think myself complete without music," he says.
While she is excited about this new phase, Debattama makes it clear that acting will always remain an important part of her life. “No, I don't think so, I'm going to quit anything. Acting has given me so much and I can never be thankful enough for it,” she says.
Opening up about the challenges of balancing television and music, the actress explains, “When you do a serial and you're the main lead, you don't have time for anything else apart from your work. So, for now, I don't mind exploring web series or films at this point, as well as music as a career. But yeah, if I get something really nice in television, then of course I'm going to go ahead with it. Television has given me so much, you know, so I always have huge amount of respect for all television actors and I consider myself lucky to be one,” she concludes.
