Ashnoor Kaur opens up on editing bias in ‘Bigg Boss 19,’ says, ‘a lot of the things were chopped off’
Ashnoor Kaur recently looked back at her journey on ‘Bigg Boss 19.’ She shared that much of her game never reached the audience. After stepping out of the house, the actress realised that several important moments were edited out. According to her, this strongly affected how viewers perceived her contribution.
The actress said, “A lot of the things I did inside the house were chopped off during the edit. When I came out, and I asked mom ki ‘Ye dikhaya? Meri ye fight dikhayi?’ (Was this shown? Was my fight shown?) She was like, ‘When did this happen? This was not shown to us’.”
Ashnoor explained that the narrative focused on only one aspect of her journey. “What actually happened is sirf ek track pakad ke mujhe ek insaan ke saath dikhaya jaa raha tha (They picked just one track and kept showing me with one person), whereas I was taking stands, fighting with other people in the house on issues that I thought were worthy enough to fight for,” she quoted.
She added that her bonds with other contestants were completely ignored, “I had an equation with different people in the house—be it Zeishan sir, Baseer, Amaal, everyone. But that was never shown outside to the audience. Episode mein toh bhool hi jaao, wo live feed pe bhi nahi dikhaya gaya (Forget the episode, it was not even shown on the live feed).”
However, she believes the perception that she was not contributing enough came from what was edited out. She said, “But what I thought was, the narrative that was being set against me, that probably she is not contributing. That was because it wasn’t shown. I was doing my thing in my own way. But wo cheezein dikhayi hi nahi jaa rahi thi (Those things were not being shown at all). So agar ye perception banaya jaa raha hai, that is because editing plays a great role (If this perception is being created, it is because editing plays a big role).”
The Salman Khan–hosted show concluded on December 7, 2025, with Gaurav Khanna lifting the trophy.

Editing plays a great role, says Ashnoor Kaur
Ashnoor acknowledged the limitations of reality television. She admitted that it is impossible to show everything that happens inside the house. “Yes. I do understand the fact that in a 1-hour episode, or even in 24 hours live stream, there’s a lot that is going on inside the house. So it’s not possible for the makers also to show everything that’s happening,” she said. However, she believes the perception that she was not contributing enough came from what was edited out.
