Anupamaa actress Adrija Roy reveals how she copes up with heat: I stick to simple ghar ka khana, eat fruits, and just keep drinking water
With the heat getting harder to deal with every year, Anupamaa actress Adrija Roy keeps it simple when it comes to surviving summers. For her, it’s less about hacks and more about understanding what her body needs.
Talking about it, she says, “I’ve realised I really don’t function well in extreme heat. So now I don’t try to do too much. I stick to simple ghar ka khana, eat fruits, and just keep drinking water the whole day, even if I’m not feeling thirsty.”
She says over time she’s stopped forcing herself to follow the same routine in every season. “Earlier I would just push through, but now I’ve understood that summers are different. You have to slow down a little.”
Her daily routine has also changed because of that. “I try to finish my important work early in the day. Afternoons are just too draining. And honestly, even taking a few quiet minutes in between helps a lot,” she adds.
When it comes to what she eats or drinks, she doesn’t go for anything fancy. “I like basic things like chaas or nimbu paani at home. It just feels right. It cools you down and also gives that comfort,” she says.
Adrija also feels that the heat today is very different from what it used to be. “Summers were always hot, but now it feels heavier, more tiring. Even nights don’t feel like a break anymore.”
Talking about climate change, she says, “It’s a little scary, honestly. When you see such random weather changes, it doesn’t feel normal. It feels like something is off.”
She believes that change has to start from individuals. “We can’t control everything, but we can at least be more careful. Not wasting water, using less plastic. Small things matter more than we think.”
For Adrija, it all comes down to being a little more aware of yourself and of the world around you.
