Last few days have been quite eventful for Bengali TV industry. Several artists and crew members from different TV projects have tested positive for coronavirus recently. The spike in fresh coronavirus cases has reportedly raised questions regarding the maintenance of COVID-19 protocols on the shooting floor. Meanwhile, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2020’ crowned Arkadeep Mishra as the winner. But soon after the Grand Finale was aired, it stirred a new ‘controversy’ as some of the viewers are ‘unhappy’ with the result. ​Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’s grand final and the controversy around it:

The latest season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa concluded its journey by declaring Arkadeep Mishra as the title winner, Niharika Nath as the runner-up and Bidipta Chakraborty as second runner-up. But, a section of fans openly expressed their ‘disappointment’ on social media and alleged that the result was ‘biased’. Arkadeep was heavily trolled on social media by a section of netizens who alleged, he didn’t show ‘versatility’ unlike contestants Anushka Patra, Niharika or Bidipta. They went on to blame his mentor Iman Chakraborty for ‘influencing’ the result. Judges Akriti Kakar, Mika Singh and Srikanta Acharya also faced ‘criticism’. Things went out of proportion when judge Joy Sarkar and his wife were targeted on social media. Lopamudra decided to hit back the trolls. Chaiti Ghoshal and Indrani Dutta test positive for COVID-19

The spike in the fresh COVID-19 cases has raised a serious concern over the maintenance of safety protocols on the shooting floor. A number of artists from the same shooting floor have also tested positive for the virus. The latest one is actress Chaiti Ghosal, who is currently busy with the shoot of ‘Hoyto Tomari Jonno’. She had fever and immediately isolated herself. Her medical reports suggested, she has contracted the virus. According to the sources, a few other members of the same project have fever and other symptoms. Actor Jeetu Kamal, who is playing the lead role in the show, also got tested for COVID-19. While a leading TV channel is set to launch its popular dance reality show’s new season, yet another rival channel is leaving no chance to spice up its existing show ‘Dance Dance Junior Season 2’, starring Mithun Chakraborty, Dev and Monami Ghosh as the judges. Popular actor Bhaswar Chatterjee’s decision of keeping Roza during Ramzan has reportedly earned flak. The actor was trolled by a section of netizens who made negative comments. Some even asked whether he fasts on Durga puja as well. Bhaswar stated, he has been fasting as a gesture in support of the Muslim make-up artists who work despite keeping Roza.
