You can now experience Bengaluru’s new swanky airport’s T2 on metaverse!

Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport is all geared up to become the world's first metaverse-friendly airport. This was recently announced by BIAL (Bangalore International Airport Limited), which stated that one will now be able to experience Bengaluru Airports' T2 in the metaverse.
If reports are to go by, the service has been built-in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Polygon, wherein the 'BLR Metaport' will offer its audience an immersive, three-dimensional (3D) virtual experience of the newly launched Terminal 2 at BLR Airport.

Those interested in this experience, can log on to www.Blrmetaport.Com and virtually navigate and tour the new state-of-the-art terminal, using their smart devices.
The BIAL, in its statement, added that a 3D interface will offer customers new ways to interact with the airport, such as navigating terminals, checking into flights, shopping, and social aspects like connecting with other travellers.

Revealing more about this, BIAL’s Chief Strategy and Development Officer Satyaki Raghunath stated that this is their first foray into the world of Web3 and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and that they are aiming to offer an experience to travellers that are immersive, unique, and memorable.

If reports are to go by, BLR Metaport has been built on the fundamentals of decentralisation, where control and decision-making are transferred from a centralised entity to a distributed network.

If all goes well, the BLR Metaport will likely enable users to shop from different brands remotely in the near future.
