Indian travellers willing to visit the Netherlands have some good news for them. As per the latest news reports, the Embassy of the Netherlands in India has announced that fully vaccinated travellers can now apply for any visa category with prior appointments. However, this option is available only for those who have been jabbed with Covishield.
Referring to this, the Embassy stated that those vaccinated with Covaxin or who have not been vaccinated yet, can travel to the Netherlands only if they fall under one of the EU entry ban exemptions. Those travelling to the country will have to carry a negative RT-PCR test report, while they will have to mandatorily quarantine for 10 days even if they are vaccinated upon reaching the country. As per the Embassy’s statement, a fine will be imposed on those not complying with the rules.

Reports have it that a European entry ban is in place for some people, which bars them from entering the European Union or the Schengen area. Therefore, you can visit the Netherlands if the purpose of your visit falls under the exempted category, such as those who are fully vaccinated can be exempted from the EU entry ban.
Reportedly, travelling to the Netherlands from India will require you to self-quarantine for 10 days, and this rule applies even to those who are fully vaccinated. However, if you get tested on day 5, and your reports come negative, you might be able to shorten the quarantine period. Further, you might be exempted from the mandatory quarantine requirement, depending on the purpose of your trip.
Also, if you are travelling by air, you will be required to fill in a health declaration form (those aged 13 or above) and carry it with you. Do note, some airlines also allow travellers to complete the health declaration digitally when you check in.
