Model Town in North Delhi is home to the famous Naini Lake, which is quite a popular destination for boating. The Delhi government’s tourism department has now decided to resume boating here in the lake. Tourism activities at the lake, which is under the jurisdiction of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, is actually run by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) on lease.
Reports suggest that the lake is being cleaned regularly, and there are efforts to ensure that there is no mosquito breeding here. Recently, the Naini Lake was in news as it was overflowing, and its pavements were flooding. The lake is always at the risk of overflowing whenever it rains.
The pavement, and grills that were damaged due to the excess water, will be repaired soon. If you want to enjoy boating here, you will have to pay INR 130 for half an hour. This is valid for four people.
