Cafe with a story: Pakistan’s viral chaiwala Arshad Khan just launched his own cafe in Islamabad!

Social media is extremely powerful, and Pakistan's Arshad Khan is one of the best examples that proves this fact! Remember, just a few years ago (in 2016), an extremely good-looking, blue-eyed chaiwala from a small village in Pakistan went viral after a photographer shared his pictures on her Instagram profile. The guy became an internet sensation overnight for his good looks and was offered movies, ads, and a number of modelling projects later.

Now, four years later, Arshad Khan is once again trending on social media profiles and this time, it is not for his good-looks but for launching his own cafe in Pakistan’s capital city, Islamabad.

Back in September 2016, a professional photographer Jiah Ali, while roaming on the streets of Pakistan, saw a man in a blue kurta selling tea on the streets. The photographer was stunned by his deep blue eyes and his model-like looks. She captured him in her camera and shared his pictures on her profile. In no time, his pictures went viral and Arshad Khan became the famous Chaiwala of Pakistan.

Arshad’s Café Chaiwala Roof Top

After getting fame and money, Arshad decided to do what he is best at and launched his chai café in Islamabad, named Café Chaiwala Roof Top. Speaking to regional news channels, he said, “Many people asked me to name my café as Arshad Khan and told me to change the current name. But I refused because ‘Chaiwala’ is my identity.”
Café Chaiwala Roof Top is quite an amazing place and is filled with a range of desi decor items like kites and paintings. Talking about the decor of his cafe, Arshad said, “We have used truck artwork to design the café and also placed desi tables and chairs”.

The menu

The menu here is not just restricted to tea; there are more than 20 dishes available at the café. Arshad loves spending his time at the cafe but, as of now, he is completing his entertainment projects that have been pending for long. Since his popularity, Arshad has done modelling for several famous brands and has featured in a music video too in 2017.
