Delhi airport to do random tests of passengers arriving in the city

The Delhi government has now decided to run random COVID tests for passengers arriving at the Delhi airport. This will be true for passengers who are arriving from those states that have an increased number of coronavirus cases. So if you happen to test positive for COVID-19 during the test, you will be required to go into mandatory quarantine.
As of now, states that have an increased number of coronavirus cases are Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab, to name a few.

According to the Delhi International Airport, the tests will be conducted by the District Disaster Management Authorities. Passengers will be permitted to exit the airport after the collection of the samples. However, it has been reported that those who are found to be COVID positive will be asked to go into quarantine as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare protocol.

Furthermore, such tests might also be common at bus stops, and railway stations in the city.

The Delhi government has emphasized that it is extremely important to continue social distancing, and there must be a vigorous implementation of rules and regulations in relation to COVID-19. As of now cases have been increasing in Delhi, much like most other states in the country.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government has also said that one-third of the vaccination centres now will be open from 9 pm to 9 am. This is to accelerate the rate of COVID-19 vaccinations. Earlier, vaccination centres were open only between 9 am to 9 pm.
