The Swedish Army Museum is a great way to introduce and take you through Sweden’s history of war and peace. The museum have done a fabulous job in giving a glimpse of how Swedish culture and life have shaped up during the times of wars through the use of fascinating historical objects and realistic scenes. Visitors get to experience the living conditions of the soldiers, their families and of the masses during those times. Stroll through the hall and glance at the dramatic, full-scale scenes of the 16th century to till date. Check out the display of original artefacts in temporary and permanent exhibitions. The museum also has a special exhibit on Raoul Wallenberg, a Swedish diplomat during World War II, who was responsible for saving almost 100,000 Jews in Nazi-held Hungary before being arrested himself by the invading Soviert Army. He went missing afterwards. The display shows his deeds during World War II, how this man saved so many people and what happened to him after he was captured. In fact, Sweden recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of Wallenberg's birth. The Trophy Chamber should also be explored with its unique display of trophies of the time. Guided tours in Swedish and English are available. Entry is free.
