One of Auckland's most unique adventures is an attraction called Snowplanet. It is New Zealand's only year-round, indoor snow resort. Where else can you experience indoor winter sports one minute and walk outside to get a breath of fresh air and sunshine the next? Winter sports you can experience at Snowplanet include snowboarding, snow skiing, tobogganing, tubing and just playing in the snow. If you do not know how to snowboard or ski, you can learn at Snowplanet. Experienced instructors are always on-site to assist those who wish to learn and private or group lessons are available. Temperatures in Snowplanet are below freezing, usually around 23 degrees Fahrenheit, so it is wise to dress warm and wear waterproof clothing if possible. Snowplanet also rents ski gear including clothing, skis, snowboards and more to anyone who needs it. Snowplanet is open daily, Monday through Thursday from 10am to 10pm, Friday 10am to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 10pm.
