Sea-to-Sky Highway

In the not-too-distant past, a native trail wound its way up the coast of what is now British Columbia. Along the way, various natural landmarks like mountain peaks, mystical islands and rock formations represented aspects of the mythology of the Squamish people, the native people of this region. These landmarks, a living narrative, told intertwined stories of the landscape and the people. That trail is now the Sea-to-Sky Highway, and a stunningly scenic drive that runs between Vancouver and Whistler.
The drive is actually less than two hours, but stopping to take photos or just drink in the views, will add another hour or two. You can also get a map of the Sea-to-Sky Highway at the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre in Whistler that marks the many points of interest and scenic views. Using the map, you can make driving the highway a cultural and spiritual adventure.
