Another year of the much-awaited Pushkar Mela has ended. The festival is a perfect amalgamation of colour and culture and is visited by a number of tourists from across the globe. Another year of the much-awaited Pushkar Mela has ended. The festival is a perfect amalgamation of colour and culture and is visited by a number of tourists from across the globe. Held annually in the religious town of Pushkar (in Rajasthan), this grand fair is the ideal platform for selling and buying cattle, especially camels.
It has been recorded that around 400000 tourists visit the town during the Pushkar Fair. Some of the very interesting and fun activities to expect here are competitions such as Matka Tod, Longest Moustache, and Bridal Competitions.
The festival continues for days, and more than 11000 cattle participate in the grand festivities.

What to expect this year?
Pushkar Cattle Fair (November 4 - 9): These are the Pushkar Cattle Fair dates when all cattle trading will be done and a lot of cattle contests will be organised.
Pushkar Cultural Fair (November 10 - 11): These two days are dedicated to Pushkar Cultural Fair, when interesting colourful cultural activities will be held. During this time, visitors can enjoy folk dance, local music performances (Rajasthan State Government sponsored) and a lot of other cultural activities.
Pushkar Festival (November 12): Last will be the Pushkar Festival day, which is considered a holy day for religious souls as people take dips in the famous Pushkar Lake. Along with this, a lot of other religious ceremonies also take place.
