Spanning across 3.5 acres, the National Gallery of Modern Art in Bangalore is housed in the erstwhile mansion of Mysore royal family. The gallery is divided in two wings—old and new—which exhibit works that belong to the pre-Independence and post-Independence era, respectively. The walls here are adorned with works of great artists like Raja Ravi Verma, Jamini Roy, Amrita Sher-Gil, Rabindranath Tagore and many more. A popular haunt amongst art lovers and history buffs, the gallery is equipped with an open air theatre, a refurbished auditorium, reference library, cafeteria and a small shop, and is located on the Palace Road.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
