As the name suggests, the Jungfrau Region Museum of Tourism documents the rise and rise of tourism in the Jungfrau region of Switzerland. Opened sometime in 1980, this address is one of a kind and takes you on a fascinating journey, one that will resonate with all travel addicts. With exhibits that are several hundred years old, (250 to be precise), this museum has intrigued travellers and history enthusiasts from all over the globe. Occupying three elaborate floors, the displays include the forms of transportation used during the days of yore along with crafts and fashion. A lesser known fact is that this structure used to be a traditional residence in the 17th century and was renovated to become the popular museum that it is today.The Jungfrau Region Museum of Tourism remains open from the month of May to October; timing to visit is from 2 in the afternoon till 5 in the evening. It is closed on Mondays and tickets come for around 5 CHF per person. The museum is located in the Old Town of Untersee on Obere Gasse and is a short walk away from the centre of Interlaken. You can alternatively take the local bus or drive up to the museum.
